Date: 19/05/2025

Monday 19th May, 11:30 am – The Pilot Boat St David was in routine service taking a pilot to board an inbound cruise ship, when outbound in St Georges Harbour passing Buoy SG 5 a swimmer was observed in the channel. The crew asked if the person was ok and found he required assistance. The swimmer was off a visiting yacht which was at anchor, the tender had got away from the yacht and drifted off, after chasing the tender the swimmer was tired and was taken onboard the pilot boat to rest before being assisted in recovering the tender.

Monday 19th May, 2:20 pm – The Marine and Ports Buoy Tender DRAGON had been working around the east end of the Island, when returning to Dockyard they discovered a visiting yacht disabled in the south channel by buoys 20 / 21. The 88 ft U.K, registered yacht with 2 POB was taken in tow to a berth in Dockyard.

Sunday 18th May, 5:50 pm – A 911 call was transferred to Bermuda Radio from a member of the public at the 9 beaches property, Sandys. The caller was observing children on a raft offshore between 9 beaches and Cambridge beaches and was concerned for their safety. The Bermuda Coast Guard were dispatched a found a raft at 9 beaches, people in the area confirmed children were playing on it but were now ashore and all accounted for.

Friday 16th May, 5:00 pm – Bermuda Radio spoke with the inbound visiting yacht FANTASIO on approach to Bermuda and passed the relevant pre-arrival information. The French registered yacht made an approach to the east end but did not enter the Town Cut and proceeded along the Narrows, the yacht became uncontactable and the Bermuda Coast Guard dispatched a boat to escort FANTASIO back to St Georges Harbour.

Friday 2nd May, 8:00 pm – The General Cargo ship DANICA SUNRISE inbound to bunker at dockyard emailed RCC Bermuda via their shipping agent to advise of a large RIB adrift approximately 160 miles southeast of Bermuda. The RIB looked as if it had been at sea for while and was equipped with 4 large outboards and RADAR, the United States Coast Guard did not have any knowledge of the vessel.
